Huawei's latest innovation, the Mate XT, a $2,800 tri-fold smartphone, is making waves in the tech world. This ambitious device features a unique triple-screen design, offering users a next-level experience beyond what current foldable phones provide. The Mate XT can fold in three different ways, resembling an accordion, which allows for a 10.2-inch display when fully extended. It’s also the slimmest foldable phone on the market at just 3.6mm wide when unfolded.

This smartphone is not only designed for a premium look but also packed with features like AI-driven tasks for translation and photo editing. However, while its 50MP main camera with a variable aperture stands out, the overall camera setup isn't groundbreaking compared to flagship non-foldable phones. The foldable market is still evolving, with Huawei holding a leading position, controlling 27.5% of the market.

Even though the Mate XT’s price tag may limit its mainstream appeal, the launch aims to reassert Huawei’s dominance, especially in markets outside the U.S. Despite facing sanctions, Huawei continues to innovate and lead, positioning this tri-fold device as a serious challenger in the premium smartphone space.
